
Jackson was born California but grew up in Alabama. He has lived in Atlanta, Georgia, Raleigh, North Carolina, Miami, Florida, Munich and Heidelberg, Germany, Cape Town, South Africa, and now in Hong Kong.
Starting in radio at 15, Jackson worked with the on-air personality name “GJ the DJ” in Blakely, Georgia 93.5 WBBK from 1988 to 1990 while in middle school and high school. During college he was known as “Action Jackson” from 1992 to 1995 in Atlanta, Georgia for radio station WGUN AM 1010 News Talk Sports.
Jackson has performed at Charlie Goodnight’s Comedy Club in Raleigh, North Carolina, frequently performs with the Comedy Cartel in Manila, Philippines, did a cameo during the Nando’s Comedy Festival in Cape Town, South Africa, The Laugh Garage in Sydney, Australia, performed at the debut of TakeOut Comedy Singapore and currently calls TakeOut Comedy Club in Hong Kong home.
Jackson is more partial to writing than performing. Jackson has contributed to numerous magazines around the globe – No Strings Attached News (Las Vegas, Nevada), the now defunct (Hong Kong) Taxi magazine, Time Out Hong Kong, and Europe Reloaded (Berlin, Germany).
Jackson is also the co-producer for the first English and Cantonese Comedy Variety Show in Hong Kong entitled “Comedy Dim Sum 喜劇 點心” www.comedydimsum.com which fashions itself much like “Saturday Night Live” meets “Kids In The Hall” meets “Children’s Toys with Lead Paint”.
