Marlon’s stand-up comedy career began as a Psych 101 project in his sophomore year. He joined his first stand-up comedy competition in 2005 after a year of crashing poetry open-mics and university events. He won 1st… runner-up in Wave 89.9’s WACK Comedian Search, earning him the opportunity to closely work with comedy veterans Allan Manalo and Tim Tayag.
Since then, Marlon has performed at major local venues including Music Museum, Alabang Town Center, Boracay, and many others. In 2006, he amused audiences during the Coffee Bea & Tea Leaf tour, opening for Allan Manalo and Tim Tayag. He has since taken his act abroad, performing at various comedy clubs in New York and Hong Kong.
Marlon has been described as a comic’s comic with his brand of stupid-smart comedy that takes inspiration from anything and everything. His jokes, both original and unexpected, are products of a reluctant homebody’s imagination that goes where he can’t. The reclusive comedian can sometimes be found at Spicy Fingers in Greenbelt 2.
