Nobody, not least himself, really knows what drew Tama to a standup workshop hosted by Jami Gong in early 2010. Either way, he caught the standup bug, did a few open mikes at TakeOut Comedy and the Comedython at Champs before making his debut in mid-2010. Tama won his qualifying round at the Hong Kong International Comedy Festival later that year, and placed 4th in the overall competition. He has performed in Hong Kong and Singapore, and has opened for the likes of Shecky Wong and Paul Ogata.
