People’s Liberation Improv is Hong Kong’s largest and first regularly performing improvised comedy troupe. The group was founded in 2007 following a series of improv classes taught by actor/comedian Glen Chin, and began giving monthly performances in 2008. The ’signature game’ of PLI is the free-form improvisation, an extended series of crazily related scenes based on a one-word suggestion from an audience member. PLI has performed with Paul Ogata, Al Ducharme, Tom Cotter and Kerry Louise. They currently perform the first Friday of the month, and sometimes more.
